July 9, 2007My New Sexy Camera – Canon EOS 400D
June 5, 2007I’ve had my first couple of days testing my new camera: Canon EOS 400D.
..and must say I’m impressed! The camera is extremely fast, the battery holds up and it’s quite easy to use. Now I realize how slow my former Nikon Minolta was.
The uploading of pics to PC is also quite fast using the usb-cable and EOS utility programme. It’s easy too, just press the blue light on the camera when it’s connected. And still it’s no problem using other programmes at the same time on my poor, overloaded AMD-1800MHz/1GB-ram/Xp-computer – looks like the uploading utility programme just slows a bit down as not to overload the ram/processor.
The battery now died after uploading approximately two thirds of 600+ pics in high quality – not too bad considered I’ve used the camera intensely for two whole days (and quite a bit of the night).
So far: kudos to Canon. Guess I’ll write more on the subject when I’m more experienced.

Apple goes to court again! This time they are fighting for their life?
June 1, 2007
Apple Taiwan Premium Reseller: “STUDIO A” Open, originally uploaded by wahaha_wu.
Apple are in conflict with the German company Medion. They are going to fight over the right to use the brand-name LIFE. Apple are planning to use the name iLife in their products, and feel the name LIFE is juuust a little too close.
The case is: In Norway Medion registered the product-name LIFE in february 1999 with all rights. Medion have not used the name in Norway – only a few products in other contries.
The problem is that in Norway a patent can be deleted if it isn’t used for 5 years, and Apples attorney, Trine Greaker Herzog (why is there no h before the o in her last name?), says: “Medion have not used the brand-name, and LIFE must therefore be deleted from the (Norwegian) registry.”
Apple do not want to use the name as is, but has recently registered the iLife name. Medion is the company complaining: They feel the brands/names are too similar and the poor public may be confused. So they are meeting in court at the end of August.
Ooooh – so exiting (just a tad ironic). Personally I’d let Apple use the name, and just make lots of cheap, similar products – then live happily ever after on some island, cashing in on the spinoff-effect…
