Happy Orgasm Day!

August 8, 2007

Today is the World Orgasm Day according to Norwegian sites. It was the American artist Alex Hirka that proclaimed in 1998 that his girlfriends birthday August 8 should be the day for orgasm. So join in!

But if August 8 is a bad day for you, do not despair, you have a chance to participate in the Global Orgasm For Peace wich takes place December 22. It’s part of the Global Consciousness Project:

The Global Consciousness Project (http://noosphere.princeton.edu), runs a network of Random Event Generators (REGs) around the world, which record changes in randomness during global events. The results show that human consciousness can be measured to have a global effect on matter and energy during widely-watched events such as 9/11 and the Indian Ocean tsunami. There have also been measurable results during mass meditations and prayers.

If that’s not enough for you the mayor of a small town in Brazil has proclaimed May 9 Orgasm Day with the goal of improving relationships between married couples and fight the scourge of premature ejaculation.

But remember: You’re still allowed to have an orgasm whenever and whichever day you like.

The Story Of Round Rectangles

July 12, 2007

Poor Bill Atkinson was so proud of his solution on how to draw ovals and circles on the Macintosh, but Steve Jobs just wanted more: “Rectangles with rounded corners are everywhere!”.

And of course Steve got his will..

And the rounded corner story continues. Some are not impressed by the Firefox antialiasing.

Be Reasonable! – Blog Carefully!

I’m a little scared to get Steve Pavlina on my neck now – but here I go:

A few points on copyright and rules that we (fresh bloggers) really need to know about:

  • ..if you want to share someone else’s content with your own audience, just quote a brief excerpt, and provide proper attribution with a link to the source
  • if a blogger posts nothing but a list of links to other sites, that list is still likely protected by copyright
  • it makes no difference whether or not you provide proper attribution

I found this article via c4chaos‘s blog. And he says – amongst a lot of other good things:

  • Why do I have to buy that freakin’ Billy Joel song again just because I switched to a Mac?

Fortunately, the law says we don’t own ideas. Ideas aren’t anyone’s property – Steve Jobs

Thank you very much Steve, Steve and..um. that C4maniac 😉

I have no comment – this is so bad

Man leaves finger in bar after brawl

June 11, 2007

“Just a bit tipsy.. forgot my finger”

clipped from news.yahoo.com

SYDNEY, Australia – A man who lost part of his finger in a bar brawl walked out of the pub and down the street before he noticed it was gone, police said Monday.
He didn’t know it was missing until he left the (pub),” police Inspector Mark Kellert told The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper. “He was out on the street and realized there was blood on his hand, noticed his finger was missing, and went to hospital.”

Security guards later found the severed finger “and a large amount of blood” in the pub’s bathroom, New South Wales state police said in a statement.

The 42-year-old man, whose identity was not released, was being treated for his injuries. Police brought the severed finger to the hospital, but did not say whether it was being reattached.

Bjorn Borgs comeback in peril – dog takes credit

June 11, 2007

mcenroe and borg chatting

Five times winner of Wimbledon (men’s single tournament), Bjorn Borg; has been forced to withdraw from his first game on grass in England for 26 years.

He was trying to stop a dogfight (the original kind) when he got bitten quite severely in his right leg. The doc’ has grounded him for six weeks.

Borg was out walking his Golden Retriever (the kindest dogs in the world) when a Schaefer attacked (also very nice dogs, but need some more proper work). Although its not very smart (but I do understand why), he tried to stop the attacking dog and got bitten.

Last time Borg played in England he lost to the other legend John McEnroe, in the Wimbledon finals in 1981.

I am giving up on worpress – today

June 7, 2007

WordPress is behaving irradical today. When I’m trying to edit my posts it starts to fetch versions of posts prior to the one I’m trying to fix. It refused several times to save edits. I’ve lost one hour of writing. So I give up (for today) and seek refuge in the safe bloggerblog world..

Testing new photo site

Photo SharingUpload VideoVideo SharingShare Photos

Complete post here: http://candogphotoblog.blogspot.com/

I’ve started testing out DropShots, another new photo sharing site. Originally I thought Dropshots seemed slow, but after more testing (today is 2nd day) I’ve found that it was my own computers fault. I started using it with Flock, now I’m on Firefox – and its fast. I like its DropBox uploading tool although it doesn’t have as many functions as Flickrs tool – might be nice for those not too savvy on these things.

Personally I’m quite fond of the Flock browsers integrated tools for viewing and uploading photos to Flickr and Photobucket. In Firefox you can use Fotofox – a quite similar tool.

The ads in DropShots are not as intrusive as in many other pic sharing sites. Also it’s a piece of cake using pics on other sites (like the one in this post), just click ‘blog’ and you get:

  • The HTML code for the photo – in the size you see here in this post
  • HTML code for thumbnails pointing to all your pics & videos of the same day (see below)
  • HTML code for thumbnails of your last 6 photos & videos posted
  • Link to webpage for email & IM – just in case you have no idea how to do that
  • And finally you get the BBCode – for bulletin boards, message boards, or forums

When I’m on it I might as well mention aaaanother photosite/webalbum-tool I use alot: Googles Picasa Webalbum. In conjunction with Picasa2 it works great! Mainly I use it for my family photos – although my family are chickens who don’t dare beeing visible online, so most of the albums are hidden 😉
